Our story.
Network Charlotte was founded in 2009 by David Cauble, a Charlotte-area financial planner who saw meaningful professional relationships missing from the city's business scene. What started as a small gathering has grown to more than 63,000 members and hundreds of free events across the metro.
In 2024, 15 community members became the first Founding Members of Network Charlotte, committing early financial support that made the current community possible. The Network Charlotte Foundation was born as an independent nonprofit partnering with Network Charlotte, dedicated to making sure this community stays free and accessible for the people who need it most.
How we're structured.
Network Charlotte operates as two organizations working in parallel, so that each side can do its job cleanly.
Network Charlotte
The for-profit that produces the events calendar, contracts with community leaders who host events, and offers sponsorship packages to businesses looking to reach professional Charlotte. This is where the day-to-day machinery lives; every dollar the community spends here goes here.
Network Charlotte Foundation
Funded by Foundation Member dues ($33/yr, tax-deductible), donations, corporate giving, and grants. The Foundation runs its own programming — jobseeker support groups, career-development workshops, and hardship-relief grants — and hosts Foundation events where Foundation Members get attendee-list access.
